Word Snake

The challenge in this activity is for students to think of words using the given prefixes, stems or suffixes and join them together in a “snake” shape.

For this type of word snake, students can link with any of the final four letters of each word, as shown in the example. A time of 5 minutes is suggested for each snake and a timer is provided for each slide. (When the PowerPoint is put into slideshow mode, the bar at the bottom of each slide will start to fill, and act as your 5-minute timer).

An example of the layout of the snake is given on the first slide.
